The new poetry has experienced the least bitter confusion and anxiety after nearly a century of evolution. Many people think that the new poetry since the May 4th Movement departed from the tradition of Chinese ancient poetry and was influenced by westernization and took a path of prose. How Chinese new poetry will continue to choose its own course is a question that people who are concerned about the direction of poetry should think about. In the title of “On New Poetry Prose Culture”, we invited Professor Wang Zelong from the School of Arts of Huazhong Normal University to write a series of written speeches about their doctoral students in modern and contemporary literature. They are here to express their concern and continue discussions.
