In 1988 when the border between China and Vietnam was opened, some of the captured wild animals almost daily flowed into Guangxi from Vietnam, some of them rare animals. Lai Yuemei and colleagues from the Forestry Department Nature Conservation Station went to the border posts to explain animal protection knowledge and asked them to cooperate actively and properly handle the confiscated pangolins, monitor lizards, shanrui, tiger skin dolls and all kinds of monkeys and birds. At one time, the frontier defense station sent confiscated 7 gibbons that were not separated from their mothers to the protection station. These gibbons, which should have been mothers-fed, are rare animals at the national level and are very difficult to survive without them. How to save these dying little ones? Lai Yue-mei took them home with their mother’s kindness. Like a baby in a caretaker, Lai Yuemei feeds them milk and feeds fruit every day. Afraid of these small guys indigestion, but also often take them out to stroll. Give them a bath, Lai Yue Mei both afraid of water is too hot, afraid of water is too cold, always have to repeatedly adjust the water temperature. Wash it gently with a towel after bathing. Her husband said that share of effort, as good as that year to take care of their only son. Later, the gibbon gradually grow up, the neighbor is noisy, Lai Yuemei moved them to the office rearing.
