欧阳修的《诗本义》打破由唐至宋初的经义统一时期被儒士尊为圭臬的释经家的注疏权威,重新赋予《诗经》的文本以诠释的中心地位。从语法诠释的维度上看视,其“据文求义”的诠释学思想包含了整体语境与直接语境两个层次。从纵向的、历时的维度看视,欧阳修对处于尧、舜、三代时期的“六经”文本语言的形式与风格有特殊的规定性,《诗经》语言的“简直”、“文理易通”成为制约诠释过程的基本原则;从共时的角度来看视,欧阳修提出“理”及其“文理”、“意理”与“联属”等相关的诠释学命题,把《诗经》文本的篇章及语词各个部分之间的共在关系作为探求诗义的依据。
