Dietary protein has long been used to treat advanced chronic renal failure (CRF). It has recently been suggested that a low protein diet can slow or stop the progression of kidney disease. Low-protein diet significantly improved the survival rate of CRF experimental animals. Some advocate the widespread use of low-protein diets, even when the plasma creatinine (Gr) is ≤200 μmd / L. This article aims to assess whether a low-protein diet is safe and effective with 10 questions. Is chronic renal failure always progressing? Low-protein diet therapy means that without treatment, kidney function will deteriorate further, which is not always the case. Some people found that renal function in some patients with renal disease remained stable for many years, the authors also observed that many stable CRF patients for many years, 2 cases of blood Cr stable at 5 years.
