Political absorption is considered to be an important factor in the long-term maintenance of authoritarian government. Scholars represented by Jennifer Gandy discussed the role of parliaments in attracting parliament, arguing that a more institutionalized parliamentary absorption would be more effective in promoting the maintenance of an authoritative government. In response to this argument, the author first re-encodes parliamentary absorption to more effectively distinguish the different roles of parliamentary absorption and political party absorption and examines the role of parliamentary absorption and the incorporation of political parties with data from 253 authoritative governments from 1946 to 2010 The model results show that the role of parliament in absorbing is based on the absorption of political parties and is nonlinear. The role of the parliament in the absorption by the weaker parties is not significant. With the stronger political parties, the parliamentary absorption has a significant positive effect, and the parliamentary absorption and the interaction between the party absorption and the institutionalization As the level rises, the marginal role of parliaments in absorbing their ruling status continues to increase. Therefore, the holding of the ruling position, the parliament need to absorb a certain degree of political parties will have a positive effect, and as political parties to absorb the higher level of institutionalization and continue to grow. For the authoritative government that does not yet have a system of party organizations in power, the most important task now is to strengthen the building of its own ruling party organization and increase its own power through the incorporation of more institutionalized parties.
