Objective To assess the residents’ dietary exposure according to the level of lead and cadmium pollution in aquatic products in Hainan Province. Methods The method of point assessment was used to calculate the actual intake of residents. Results It was relatively safe for adults to take lead and cadmium from aquatic products in Hainan. The metal intake of adult men aged 18 ~ 60 accounted for 2.71% ~ 3.84% of lead and 2.26% ~ 3.20% of cadmium in adults. Female lead is 2.65% ~ 4.02%, cadmium is 2.22% ~ 3.35%. Due to weight reasons, the children’s group of aquatic products lead and cadmium intake is relatively high, 2 to 11-year-old boy metal intake accounted for the proportion of PTDI range, lead 4.92% ~ 7.72%, cadmium 4.11% ~ 6.44% . Lead ages ranged from 3.86% to 8.53% for girls aged 2-11 and from 3.24% to 7.14% for cadmium. Conclusion The risk of exposure to lead and cadmium in Hainan aquatic products is lower than the national average. However, children’s groups need to control intake frequency when they consume aquatic products.
