As Hayes stated, articles written about how non-native English teachers teach speaking are increased recently, however, the experiences of non-native speaker teachers working within their educational methods remain under-investigated(Hayes, 2009). Therefore, to what extent non-native speaker teachers can teach speaking successfully in foreign language learning contexts is worth investigated. The purpose of the essay is to make a comparisonof teaching speaking between native speaker teachers and non-native speaker teachers. In addition, whether Chinese teachers can teach speaking successfully in Chinese learning context will be emphasized. All these are keys to find out how much non-native speaker teachers can teach spoken English successfully in own language learning contexts.
