Renal cancer is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system, accounting for 2% to 3% of adult malignancies. Lymphangiogenesis may be an important factor of lymph node metastasis in renal cell carcinoma. Vascular endothelial growth factor and its receptor family play an important role in tumor metastasis. Vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) and its specific receptor vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3 (VEGFR-3) combined to promote lymph Tubes generate and promote tumor lymph node metastases. Tumor lymphangiogenesis is the current focus of cancer research, and may become the target of treatment of tumor lymph node metastasis. In recent years, researches on lymphatic vessels of renal cell carcinoma are underway. The latest research progress on lymphangiogenesis of renal carcinoma and the clinical significance of this study are reviewed in this paper.
