为水利工程建设而进行的工程地质水文地质勘测中研究岩石透水性是一种极其重要而有意义的工作。无论水库,引水渠,或者坝址共岩石透水性的资料是判断地区水文地质条件的主要因素之一,只有充分的全面的掌握了岩石的透水性能,才能给予水工建筑物的水文地质条件作出恰当的评价。从而对建成后引起的水文地质条件的变化作出科学的预测与估计。压水试验是直接在野外进行岩石渗透性研究的常用方法之一。
