“Morning in Shanghai” is a city novels that reflect the historical process of national capitalist industry and commerce and the national bourgeoisie transformation in the early days after the founding of the People’s Republic in a very small number of “17-year literature.” The masked cities are rediscovered and incorporated into the imagination of the socialist modern countries. In the process, however, the inherent ideological conflicts have become more evident in the transformation of urban commerce and industry, which manifests itself in concrete texts For two reasons: firstly, the love of the material life of the city exhibited by the unconscious text; second, the emasculation of the daily life of the working class by the discourse of class struggle in the revolutionary context; and the seemingly contradictory fact is that socialism The two sides of the logic of discourse of modernity, although the novel has not solved the contradiction between the connotation of “revolution / modernity” in the socialist modernization construction, but has given concrete consideration to this modern city in Shanghai as the background .
