邓小平教育思想的核心理念在教育要面向现代化、面向世界、面向未来的“三个面向”中得到集中体现。“三个面向”分别对教育事业提出了导向型要求、全局型要求和趋势型要求,是中国教育事业发展的重要战略指引。现代化是传统向现代的转化和变迁,呈现在社会生活的各个方面,教育现代化在这进程中起着关键作用。教育现代化从本质上讲是人的现代化。邓小平的教育现代化思想蕴含着深刻的人本内涵,体现了对“人”这一主体的持续关注,包括强调实现教育现代化,要重视人格品质的塑造,加强知识力量的储备,增强技术能力的历练等。邓小平教育现代化思想的人本内涵,有助于我们在现代化建设的过程中遵循人的规律,坚持以人为本,发挥人才优势,推进人才开放。
