意境是中国美学的重要概念。在诗歌翻译中是否能传达意境是翻译成功与否的关键。要忠实地传达意境，译者必须抓住意境的三个美学要素：意象、情感及象外之象。本文试从意境的这三个美学要素层面探讨元稹的《行宫》这首诗英译中意境的传达。
