Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is produced by megakaryocytes and is present in platelet alpha particles and is released when platelets agglutinate. PDGF is a kind of glycoprotein, mostly exists in the form of S-S binding. After being treated with acid and heat, it does not lose activity.
