In order to study the action mechanism of scale inhibitor, calcium carbonate scale was collected before and after the addition of different scale inhibitors.SEM analysis showed that the SEM of calcium carbonate scale showed hexagonal column and rhombohedral of calcite before the addition of scale inhibitor, Scale, the morphology of calcium carbonate scale changed, and the better the anti-scaling agent effect, the greater the change of scale morphology.Further by FT-IR, XRD calcium carbonate scale qualitative and quantitative analysis found that adding anti After the fouling agent, except for calcite in the scale, hexagonal calcite and aragonite appeared, and the larger the anti-scaling rate was, the higher the content of hexagonal calcite in the scale was.The above results indicate that the essential reason for the change of the scale morphology after adding the scale inhibitor is that scale The distribution of calcium carbonate crystals has changed. The scaling process mainly includes the formation and disappearance of unstable phase, the formation and disappearance of metastable phase, the growth of stable phase. In the absence of anti-scaling agent, the metastable phase can Into a stable phase, the main component of calcium carbonate scale calcite; anti-scaling agent was added, anti-scaling agent to prevent the formation and transformation of the metastable phase, resulting in the presence of calcium carbonate scale hexagonal calcite and aragonite. , Calcium carbonate scale hexagonal calcite The higher the content, indicating anti-scaling agent mainly through the scaling process control in the second phase or the first phase of the anti-scaling effect.
