众所周知,每一个生命体的生物学性状都由其基因组中基因的表达和沉默有关。乙型肝炎病毒是基因组结构最简单的生命体,其基因组全长仅3.2 Kb,简单的结构却包含了该生命体所有的遗传信息,维持了其全部的生物学功能。乙肝病毒这种结构简单但功能完整的生命体,其细胞内基因表达和沉默的机制却十分精准,理解这种机制为我们研究复杂基因组的基因表达、沉默及细胞分化、发育提供了启示。
It is well-known that the biological traits of each living being are related to the expression and silencing of genes in their genomes. Hepatitis B virus is the simplest organism in the genome structure. Its genome is only 3.2 Kb in length. The simple structure contains all the genetic information of the organism and maintains all of its biological functions. The mechanism of hepatitis B virus (HBV), a simple but functional organism, is very accurate in understanding the mechanism of gene expression and silencing in cells. It is understandable that this mechanism provides enlightenment for the study of gene expression, silencing and cell differentiation and development of complex genomes.
