《他曾是》是美国著名当代诗人理查德·威尔伯的一首现代诗。诗中,诗人通过对一颗老树普通的一生的细致描写,赞扬了那些对社会的发展以及子孙后代的幸福无私奉献的先辈们。诗人把树比作老人,意义深刻。本文主要比较和分析了圣经和《他曾是》中的意象的关系,根据对圣经的研究和对诗歌的深入分析,笔者得出结论,诗歌中包含了四个圣经意象:知识树,耶稣,亚当和牧羊人。诗中的圣经意象增加了诗歌的意义并给诗歌涂上了一层神秘的颜色。所以通过对圣经形象的研究,我们了解到圣经对于文学的影响,以及理查德·威尔伯的这首诗歌的魅力所在。
“He was once” a modern poem by Richard Wilbur, a famous American contemporary poet. In her poem, the poet, through a detailed description of the ordinary life of an old tree, praises the ancestors who are selfless and dedicated to the development of society and the happiness of future generations. Poets tree compared to the elderly, profound meaning. This article mainly compares and analyzes the relationship between the Bible and the image of “He was”. Based on the study of the Bible and his in-depth analysis of the poetry, the author concludes that the poetry contains four images of the Bible: the Tree of Knowledge, Jesus, Adam and Shepherd. The biblical image in the poem increases the meaning of poetry and colors the poetry with a mysterious color. So by studying the image of the Bible, we learned about the impact of the Bible on literature and the charms of Richard Wilbur’s poem.
