光纤通信是以光波为载波,利用纯度极高的玻璃拉制成极细的光导纤维作为传输媒介,通过光电变换,用光来传输信息的通信系统。目前,不仅在全球电信通信行业被广泛的应用,它还用于高质量彩色的电视传输、工业生产现场监视和调度、交通监视控制指挥、城镇有线电视网、电力、军事等。基于各领域对信息量的需求不断增长,光纤通信技术的应用发展趋势也备受关注。
Optical fiber communication is based on light waves as the carrier, the use of high purity glass drawn into very fine optical fiber as a transmission medium, through the photoelectric conversion, the use of light to transmit information communication system. At present, it is not only widely used in the global telecom industry, but also used for high quality color television transmission, industrial production site monitoring and dispatching, traffic surveillance control command, town cable network, electric power and military. Based on the growing demand for information in various fields, the application development trend of optical fiber communication technology has drawn much attention.
