木莲[Manglietia fordiana (Hemsl.) Oliv.]是木兰科木莲属常绿大乔木,原产我国浙江仙霞岭山脉九龙山区海拔800～1000米的山上。其珍稀之处在于,既是珍贵树种,又是名花,其果除可观赏外还是良药,一身多能,实为难得。早在1984年,它就被列入我国《珍稀濒危保护植物名录》。对它的保护、研究、繁育和开发,是十分必要的。木莲每年4月中旬花苞绽开,单生于枝顶;花大如盘,芳香美艳,香味温和自然;花被阔卵形,粉红色,外包绿色苞片;雄蕊多数,阔线
