In a small village in the mountainous area of Fujian Province, a six-story squadron directly under one of the prisons in Fujian Province was set up in a separate two-story building converted from June 2005 and dedicated to AIDS criminals. This small building is in the custody of men who have been sentenced to jail in Fujian Province for their HIV infection. They are between the ages of 20 and 50, and over half are criminals involved in drug-related crimes or other crimes such as robbery or extortion. Their sentences are two to three years short and nearly 20 years long. More than 10 prison guards manage these special criminals here day and night.
