Eleven doctors reported 12 deaths, two of which occurred after anesthesia and before bronchoscopy. Twenty-two physicians reported 27 life-threatening cardiovascular complications: 10 patients with cardiac arrest, 4 patients with hypotension, 3 patients with supraventricular tachycardia, 1 patient with T wave changes, 1 patient with syncope and 8 patients with nonspecific reactions. Thirty-two physicians reported respiratory complications in 52 cases: 17 with bronchospasm, 7 with laryngospasm, 8 with hypoxemia, and 5 with
