The admirer of Hugo’s creation knows that he is a great painter. Many of the artist’s paintings are on display at the Hugo Museum in Paris’s Place de Vosges. Some were sketches of pen and watercolors he had during his trip, as well as illustrations of his own works, “Luis Blas,” “Street and Forest Songs.” However, the paintings preserved in the Hugo Museum opened in 1921 are far from all the paintings of this writer. Currently in Paris, the Royal Palace Museum exhibits the collection of national library Hugo paintings. More than 300 paintings by this writer are on display. These paintings are not only illustrations of his work, but also seem to represent his thoughts in the form of painting. Organizers of the exhibition prepared and published a picture of Hugo with 362 illustrations and informative sections.
