文学作品的获奖代表了具有评判权的文学批评家的认可,比较获奖作品的共性在挖掘作品主题的寓意方面具有启发作用。美国作家理查德.鲍尔斯的《回声制造者》(The Echo Maker)与中国作家莫言的《红高粱家族》(Red Sorghum)分获2006年美国国家图书奖和2012年诺贝尔文学奖,两部获奖作品不约而同地运用了隐喻,利用Lakoff&Johnson(1980)的“概念隐喻”视角之实体隐喻和结构隐喻角度进行解读,可见这些隐喻有效辅助了揭示两部作品共同表现的忧虑主题的功用。
