Ted Hughes, the poet laureate in the United Kingdom, was one of the most important representatives emerging from the British literary world after the Second World War. He created many animal poems that take the raptor as the theme. In an era of increasingly serious ecological crisis, Hughes pursued relentless pursuit of poetics in order to reconstruct the harmonious relationship between man and nature. From the perspective of ecocriticism, this article explores the complexities of animal complex, ecological complex, violent complex and anti-traditional creation in Hughes’ animal poems and the interpretation of Hughes’s multi-dimensional complex concept.
