Objective To understand the current status of Legionella pneumophila contamination in water systems in public places in Chongqing and to monitor the cleaning and disinfection effects of water systems in public places so as to provide the basis for health supervision and management. Methods According to the method of appendix A of Ministry of Health, “Hygienic Standard for Central Air Conditioning Ventilation System in Public Places” (2006) (before 2013-04-01) and Hygienic Practice of Central Ventilation and Ventilation System in Public Places WS 394-2012 Appendix B Method (2013- 04-01 implementation), collecting a total of 399 water samples from a number of public places in the city, including cooling water, condensate, chilled water, hot spring water, shower water, swimming pool water and domestic water, to detect Legionella pneumophila and the distribution of bacteria Detection. Results The positive rate was 11.0% in 399 samples. The positive detection rate of Legionella pneumophila in air-conditioning system was gradually decreased (29.0% / 15.6% / 9.0%), the difference was statistically significant (χ ~ 2 = 8.53, P <0.05). The detection rate of Legionella pneumophila in air-conditioning system was higher than that of Legionella pneumophila (13.9% / 7.1%) in air-conditioning system with a significant difference (χ ~ Forty-four strains of Legionella pneumophila were detected, of which 32 (72.7%) were LP1 and 12 (27.3%) were LP2-14. Conclusion There is Legionella pneumophila pollution in the water system of public places in this Municipality, the cleaning and disinfection of water system in public places should be strengthened and the supervision should be strictly regulated.
