中国人在接受西方传入的水彩画方面大致经历了从全盘学习到自主创新的过程。虽然十九世纪的英国水彩已高度发展成熟,但是艺术永无止境,中国的水彩画既要体现自己的民族风貌,又要具备作者的独立风格,这就要求每位水彩画家不断探索新的绘画语言,充分表达自己的思想感情。然而,水彩画这门独特的艺术,有其自身的形式规律,在创新中需要合理把握其该有的“底线”。
