1919年,孙中山先生在《建国方略》中提出要“筑十万铁路,使中国全境,四通八达”。1949年,新中国成立,全国铁路总里程为2.2万km,勉强能维持通车的仅有1万多km。2002年,我国铁路运营里程已达7.2万km,但按人均里程计算,仅为5.5cm,不及一根香烟长,排名在世界百位以后。每逢春运、暑运,“五一”、“十一”黄金周,全国各大车站人流如织,一票难求。
In 1919, Sun Yat-sen proposed in his “Strategy for the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” that “one hundred thousand railroads should be built to make China’s territory accessible in all directions.” In 1949, after the founding of New China, the total length of the national railway was 22,000 km, barely able to maintain the opening of only over 10,000 km. In 2002, China’s railway operation mileage has reached 72,000 km, but calculated according to mileage per capita, only 5.5cm, less than a long cigarette, ranked in the world after a hundred.
