In the Song Dynasty, Ren Yuan’s The Notes to the Valley Poetry inherited the above traditions and overcome the shortcomings of Li Shan’s “Selected Works Notes” and “Forgetting Forgets”, combined with the background of poetry, the textual research of poetry, explained the poems in Huang Tingjian’s poems The Allusions and the Meaning of Beixing Images. As an earlier work in the literary phenomenon “Song Notes and Song Poetry”, Ren Yuan’s commenting mode of thinking and his mode of interpretation, which had a great deal of importance on interpretation, had a significant impact on the poetry comments in the Song Dynasty.
