“Camel Shoko” is one of the more prominent works of social critique created by Lao She and profoundly reflects the erosion of the disadvantaged groups in society at that time. This article selects Evans. Gold translation Rickshaw Boy for analysis. The translation originated from the ideology and time background different from that of China at that time, and the rewriting of its ending was especially noticeable. From the perspective of translation cognitive psychology, the appearance of such rewriting in the translation comes from certain discourse intents. In the process of translation, both the author’s discourse intent and the translator’s discourse intent will be reflected. This paper analyzes the phenomenon of rewriting at the end of this English translation by applying the theory of discourse intent.
