The grand jury system is an important criminal justice system in the United States. It plays a screening function of preventing citizens from being prosecuted improperly by the government and investigating functions as a weapon of the prosecutorial organ. Compared with the declining of the shielding function, the investigative functions of the grand jury in the United States are being used more and more frequently.
