“广彩是广州彩绘瓷或广州织金彩瓷的简称,因其在广州河南(珠江南岸)烧制又曾称河南彩。又因是广州烧制的织金彩瓷,使用釉上彩装饰技法低温烧成,也被称为广东彩或广彩”[1]。据历史记载,广彩的发展史可以追溯到清康熙年间,当时广东人从景德镇运回瓷胎,然后运用粉彩模仿西方画进行加工彩绘。广州的工艺师经过自我学习,同时还借鉴了当时从西方传入的技法以及使用了国外的进口材料,自创了一种“铜胎烧珐琅”法,并最终用这种方法在白瓷胎上绘制,使作品画面上呈现出华丽富贵、花团锦
