The increase of CD8 + T lymphocytes is one of the early manifestations of immunological abnormalities in HIV-1 infected patients and AIDS patients. However, there are different opinions on the significance of this increase in cell count. The authors conducted a prospective study of seroprevalence of HIV-1 using clinical epidemiology. METHODS: The study population consisted of 340 HIV-1 positive male patients who were diagnosed with AIDS and death through outpatient visits, telephone follow-ups and annual national register of deaths. CD4 ~ + and CD8 ~ + T lymphocytes were analyzed by flow cytometry, and the total number of leukocytes and their classification were analyzed. Continuous observation of 60 months, respectively, the initial level of CD4 ~ + and CD8 ~ + cell count, dynamic changes and development of AIDS
