China’s largest ever ethene project-expected toproduce more than 700,000 tons of ethene a year,launched in mid-May 2002 along the northernHangzhou Bay. The project is the result of technicalupgrading of the old 400,000-ton ethene facilityowned by Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co. Ltd.in the past two years.
