簋是古代用来盛放煮熟的黍、稷、稻、粱等饭食的食器,其器形一般为圆腹、圈足。带着盖子可以保温;两边有把手,方便携带;底下有腿,还能在底下生火加温,设计很是科学。古人在吃饭时多是席地而坐的。簋就放在席上,古人可以直接用手从簋里取食物,有点现在手抓饭的感觉。在山东省邹城市博物馆内陈列着一件西周时期的铜簋,这件铜簋上面有盖、下面有腿、旁边还有两个青铜把手。它通高25.5厘米,口径20.5厘米,底径21.5厘米,腹径25.5
