In the future, whether Venezuela is a stable left or a rightist, its further development of the oil industry will become an inevitable choice under realistic difficulties, which will bring opportunities and challenges to Chinese oil enterprises. On March 5, 2013, Chávez was dead after nearly 20 months of fighting cancer. Chavez’s death marked the end of Chavez’s 14-year history of power and Venezuela entered the post-Chavez era. Former Vice President Maduro became the successor to the Socialist Unity party and was successfully elected as Venezuelan president with a slight edge. However, whether Maduro has Chavez’s ability and prestige can continue its pursuit of a series of leftwing social and economic policies such as the nationalization of oil.
