1993年9月28日，世界上海拔最高的百万吨炼油厂——格尔木炼油厂建成投产。格炼地处青藏高原北麓，位于格尔木市东南角，海拔2850米。它对促进青、藏两省区资源开发和经济发展，支援国防建设，巩固民族团结，增加地方财政收入，均有十分重要的意义，被誉为“昆仑托起的明珠”。
On September 28, 1993, Golmud Refinery, the world’s highest-altitude one million-ton refinery, was completed and put into production. Ginger is located in the north of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is located at the southeast corner of Golmud City, 2850 meters above sea level. It is of great significance to promoting resource development and economic development in Qing and Tibetan provinces and regions, supporting national defense construction, consolidating national unity, and increasing local fiscal revenue. It is known as the “Pearl of Kunlun Holding.”
