新玉29是新疆农业科学院粮食作物研究所于1997年用早熟自交系L-018为母本,武314为父本选育而成的早熟单交种。1998～2004年在各级产量试验中表现高产、稳产、抗逆性强。该品种子粒粗蛋白含量9.75%,粗脂肪含量4.34%,粗淀粉含量78.93%,赖氨酸含量0.22%,子粒容重782g/L。适合新疆南疆地区复播和北疆冷凉地区春播种植及外省区≥10℃有效积温2300℃.d以上的地区种植。种植密度为75000～82500株/hm2。
