伏牛山南麓属亚热带季风型大陆性气候,季风的进退与四季更替较为明显：冬季干冷,雨雪较少;夏季炎热,雨量充沛;春秋季气候凉爽,降雨逐渐减少。该地区小辣椒保护地栽培比露地栽培成熟期可提前20～25天,每667m2平均增产30%以上,净增产值800～1000元,经济效益十分显著。
