小流域洪水计算在国内外都有一些具体方法,这些方法具有各自的特点及其适应性。但大多是以推求洪峰流量为主,另配洪水过程线。随着瞬时单位线的广泛应用,小流域用它来计算洪水过程线,在国内一些单位都进行过研究。这是因为应用瞬时单位线原理和方法,可以在推求洪峰流量的同时推求出洪水过程线来。不仅计算方法一致,且计算工作量也不大,计算资料要求也不太高。即使流域面积小于1平方公里,也有成功的经验。因此,直接应用瞬时单位线的特点,即可比较方便地推算出洪峰流量、峰现时间、洪水总历时及全部洪水过程线来。
