利用菜心胞质雄性不育系作母本，当地主栽晚熟品种单株选择自交系作父本配制的中早熟菜心杂种一代秦苔一号，丰产性、品质、耐热性、抗病性明显优于当地主栽常规早熟品种石牌菜心和中熟品种窖埠中花。高温期无苦味、清甜、纤维少、产量高，每６６７平方米产量比石牌菜心增产６０．３７％，比中花增产３４．１８％。
