《中华人民共和国种子法》已正式颁布，并于2000年12月1日起开始实施。这标志着种子管理工作步入法制化轨道，种子工作进入了一个新的历史时期。以法律的形式明确了种子管理职能，确定了种子行政执法尺度。通过贯彻落实《种子法》，切实搞好种子管理，将使农业增产、农民增收和社会稳定得到进一步发展。
The Law of the People’s Republic of China on Seeds has been officially promulgated and it came into force on December 1, 2000. This marks the seed management work into the legal track, the work of seeds has entered a new historical period. In the form of law to clarify the function of seed management, to determine the standard of law enforcement of seeds. Through the implementation of the “Seed Law” and the effective management of seed management, agriculture will be increased in output, peasant incomes and social stability will be further developed.
