Rice is the main food crop in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. In order to increase the comprehensive level of agricultural mechanization of rice production and promote the rice production in mountainous area, mechanization development, Meizhou implemented the technology of high-yielding fertilizers of straw returned to the fields by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2000 “Harvest plan ” project. The project is undertaken by Agricultural Machinery Extension Station of Guangdong Province. The core content of the project is mechanization of tillage and straw returning to fields and popularization and application of mechanized fertilizer deep-application technology.
