Creative writing began in the Creative Writing Workshop at the University of Iowa in the United States in 1936, and included fictional writing and non-fiction writing. Non-fictional creative writing is a genre created by the students themselves. It is rooted in reality and requires the inclusion of more content with their personal experiences, sounds, and sensory details. Such as personal essays, memoirs, autobiography, news discovery, traditional travel writing, environmental writing, etc. As a new concept, it brings new enlightenment to our country’s primary and secondary school composition teaching.
