切綫齿厚量规是专门用来测量圆柱齿轮齿厚的。尤其当测量大直径齿轮,以及齿面宽度较窄的大螺旋角齿轮时,用公法綫长度或量棒跨距的尺寸来控制齿厚均较困难,因此往往采用测量单个轮齿齿厚的方法,一般又多采用齿形卡尺来测量单个轮齿的齿厚(图1)。由于用齿形卡尺测量时轮齿的两侧面与齿形卡尺量爪的尖端相接触,因此不仅是齿形卡尺的量爪易于磨损,而且对测量的精度也有影响,以致使齿轮的齿厚
