In recent years, China’s tourism industry has developed rapidly. As an important part of the tourism industry, theme parks have also made remarkable achievements in development. In particular, Shanghai Disneyland, which opened its doors on June 16, 2016, has aroused widespread concern not only in China but also in the world. At the same time, it also brought a great impact on the main park of small and medium-sized cities around Shanghai when the other main park expired. Taking Changzhou China Dinosaur Park as an example, this paper contrasts the operating characteristics of Husstenburg theme park in Nagasaki, Japan from the age composition and facilities of tourists and discusses the future development of the theme parks in medium and small cities in China.
