At present, the chelating agents used in the treatment of lead poisoning can not get rid of the lead that has entered the brain and liver, and therefore can not be used for the prevention of lead poisoning. However, some recent animal experiments show that certain nutrients in food can speed up the process of detoxification and excretion of lead in the body and reduce the accumulation of lead in the tissue, thus having the effect of preventing lead poisoning. To understand the relationship between food components and lead metabolism, a cross-sectional survey of 74 male lead workers aged 22- to 55-year-old in a steel plant was conducted. The lead contents in blood and tissues of two groups of rats injected with lead acetate (normal diet group and high vitamin diet group) were studied.
