Abstract Objective To investigate the time-dependent changes of the strain rate (SR) in the healing area of the Achilles tendon rupture rabbit model and to evaluate the correlation between SR and mechanical and histological features. Materials and Methods The experimental method has been approved by the Laboratory Animal Utilization and Management Committee. Twenty-four (48 limbs) New Zealand white rabbits were severed surgically, and the Achilles tendon was calculated using quantitative ultrasound-based elastography at 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after the Achilles tendon was severed.
