In many parts of the world, such as the Gulf of Mexico, there is a significant amount of gas seepage and hydrate formation. For the sake of science, ecology, climate and security, it is necessary for mankind to understand the proportion of natural gas that exists in the sea as a hydrate. Therefore, a linear kinetic model of hydrate formation was constructed to analyze the geological process and behavior of gas seepage from the seabed of the Bush Highlands in the GC185 block of the Gulf of Mexico. Natural gas seepage from Bush heights originates from the nearby Jolliet gas reservoir and results show that about 9% of seepage gas forms hydrates at the seabed.
