虚实问题是绘画不可回避的问题,从油画造型艺术角度来说,虚实是基于造型上纯立体和空间的视觉问题。虚与实更像是天生的矛盾,是表现油画艺术较为基本的美学概念。西方传统绘画艺术比较重视再现和表现,表现体现了艺术家在绘画中的非客观存在事物的具体的感受,是对生命意识的追问;另外再现自然实景要远远超越于照相技术所带来的画面体验。可以认为,西方油画艺术家,在创作时,虚只是一种表现手段而已,实才是最终的表现目的。能够做到用虚来衬托存在的实,来写存在的实,在创作时的主要要求就是要对创作的空间形态进行较为逼真的写实。本文对西方油画造型里的虚实理念进行了基本的概述,结合自身创作经验分析了如何在油画创作中体现虚实强弱的节奏变化。
