785计算机是一台具有极高运算速度,极大容量的巨型计算机。其在高效运行时可达1亿次/秒以上,主存容量为200万字(字长64位)。该机有很多特点:如向量处理、全流水线技术、庞大的指令缓冲站,简洁的指令系统等等。而从控制的角度来讲,785机的最大特点是多功能部件以及多个前台寄存器和后援寄存器的体系结构。并且它是以单指令流多数据流 SIMD 方式工作的。本文提出了一种新频的控制思想:登记与插队。它使得如此庞杂的巨型机在由这种控制思想设计的指令控制部件控制下能够紧张而又有节奏的工作,看上去有条不紊,清清楚楚。登记与插队的思想是在日常生活中常见的,这种思想运用于计算机上还是一种初次的尝试。它对于今后凡是多功能部件的计算机设计将产生一种积极的影响。
The 785 computer is a giant computer with extremely high computing speed and great capacity. Its efficient operation up to 100 million times / sec or more, the main memory capacity of 200 words (word length 64). It makes such a superb giant machine look and methodically organized and clear under the control of a command-and-control unit designed with this type of control. The idea of registering and disconnecting is common in everyday life, and it is still an initial attempt to apply this idea to computers. It will have a positive impact on the design of computers for multi-functional components in the future.
