In 1984, I read an article in a Chinese language teaching and research publication that introduced the “group outbound learning method”. I was very inspired and determined to transplant this method into junior high school English teaching. Through eight years of exploratory experiments, a systematic teaching program has been formed, which has also greatly improved the quality of teaching. This article intends to introduce how I specifically use the “group outbound learning method” in teaching, and at the same time, conduct a rough analysis of the psychological advantage of this learning method. The so-called “group outbound learning method” is to divide the students into learning subjects and to complete the pre-adjustment in the way that the inter-subjects learners freely verbally and bi-directionally communicate.
